The Nursing Department recently extended its community outreach by visiting Nkunda Village, bringing both healthcare services and a lasting solution to safe drinking water.
As part of the program, the department prepared a well to provide clean and safe drinking water for the community. This initiative addressed one of the village’s pressing needs and will go a long way in improving health and sanitation for families.
In addition to the well project, students and faculty conducted free medical check-ups, health education sessions, and counseling on maternal health, nutrition, and disease prevention. Residents were also encouraged to adopt healthier practices and seek timely medical care.
The Head of Department commended the collaborative spirit of the students, emphasizing that the project was not just about offering medical services but also about creating sustainable change.
For the people of Nkunda Village, the visit was more than a medical outreach—it was a gift of hope and compassion, leaving behind a tangible impact in the form of safe drinking water and strengthened community health.
